Rakesh Shivalingappa Yadav Mr. Rakesh Shivalingappa Yadav (born on February 14, 1981) is a spiritual seeker, studious student, curious researcher & an ardent follower of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. His spiritual quest started when he visited Art of Living (AOL) Ashram in Bengaluru during his Bachelor studies as a part of his curriculum. He saw many CEOs, IAS Officers who had left their jobs & serving as Volunteers in the Ashram, he was curious to understand why? he continued his studies & was able to attend Sudarsan Kriya Program near Peenya Industrial Area while he was working in the same locality with ITC Foods & the journey of exploration continued. He has spent nearly 20 years in this life in exploring spirituality since 2003 without leaving his regular education, professional work & still seeking. Early Life: From his childhood, he used tom watch human relationships through various programs that were broadcasted in Doordarshan, Govt. of India Television Channel. Without his knowledge he tried to understand why humans love each other, hate each other, fight on petty issues, what is the real goal of life, what is the ultimate purpose of life & so on. Why people are not honest with each other? why hiding things & lying has become an integral part of everyone’s life? Professor, S-VYASA (Deemed To Be) University, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India simultaneously spending time with his bed-ridden ailing Father in the hospital for the last 10 days of his life wherein he was still working in the Corporate job. He then started exploring seriously discussions, contemplations & attending various Yoga courses from renowned institutions from Rishikesh, Mysore & Bengaluru; finally, he took sabbatical break to explore more on spiritual aspects & resigned from the job. Teaching Style: He considers himself as a Facilitator only as he strongly believes in Swami Vivekanada’s teachings particularly on Teaching & Learning; he wishes to mention the Swami’s quote to every student that “No one is ever really taught by another; each of us has to teach himself/herself. The external teacher offers only the suggestion, which arouses the internal teacher, who helps us to understand things.” However, he follows the style of Sage Patanjali, that is to impart the knowledge only to True Seekers who follow discipline with Bhakti Bhava & who considers learning as an Honor.

Rakesh Shivalingappa Yadav RYT® 500 (Registered Yoga Teacher), Yoga Alliance, USA My Yoga Style: 1) Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga Through Patanjali's Yoga Sutras 2) S-VYASA Deemed To Be University’s Promotion of Positive Health (PPH) 1) Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga Through Patanjali's Yoga Sutras: My Approach: All eight limbs of Yoga will be given equal importance, progress in learning & implementing in daily life is the key aspect of my teaching / facilitating approach. Background: Ashtanga Yoga, the word ashtanga is of two words “ashta” meaning “eight”, “anga” meaning “limb” so ashtanga means eight limbs; they are mentioned in Sadhana Pada (Chapter II) of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras (PYSs), Sutra no. 2.29 written in Devanagari & Sanskrit script as yamaniyamāsanaprāṇāyāmapratyāhāradhāraṇādhyānasamādhayo'ṣṭāvaṅgāni (यम􀇓नयमासनप्राणायामप्रत्याहारधारणाध्यानसमाधयोऽष्टावङ्गा􀇓न). For our simplified understanding, many scholars have mentioned them as yama (abstinences, dont's), niyama (observances, do's), asana (postures), pranayama (breath control, breathing techniques), pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), dharana (concentration, focused concentration), dhyana (meditation) & samadhi (absorption, bliss, enlightenment) 2) S-VYASA Deemed To Be University’s Promotion of Positive Health (PPH) Yoga Program: My Approach: Promotion of Positive Health (PPH) Yoga Program designed by S-VYASA Deemed To Be University is a combination of various integrated sessions & are Om Meditation, Maitri Milan with Satsang, Theory Lecture, Cyclic Meditation, Bhajan, Trataka, Mind Sound Response Technique (MSRT) & Happy Assembly. Background: S-VYASA Deemed To Be University has developed the Promotion of Positive Health (PPH) Yoga Program in their Arogyadhama Ayurvedic Hospital. Introduction: Rakesh’s Teaching Style: Teaching is in his genes, although he comes from the family of Teachers (his father was a Lecturer retired as Principal in Govt. Pre-University College, Govt. of Karnataka & his mother is a Teacher retired as Headmistress in Govt. High School, Govt. of Karnataka) he considers himself as a Facilitator only & not a teacher; reason is that he strongly believes in one of the Swami Vivekanada’s teachings, on Teaching & Learning; he wishes to mention the Swami’s quote to every student that “No one is ever really taught by another; each of us has to teach himself/herself. The external teacher offers only the suggestion, which arouses the internal teacher, who helps us to understand things.”. However, he follows the style of Sage Patanjali, that is to impart the knowledge only to True Seekers who follow discipline with Bhakti Bhava & who considers learning as an Honor.
